Is there a doctor?

I've noticed that there's a clinic, but does anyone know if we have a doctor here?

Or someone with experience delivering babies? A door that leads to a maternity ward? Anything of that sort?

It would be strange if they had a clinic here, but no doctor...? I suppose this whole place is strange, though.

I used to be a doctor, but I was a surgeon, so not really the type of doctor you want. Maybe I could ask around.

You're more of a doctor than anyone else I know and that at least sets my mind a little at ease. I know first hand what happens when things happen that need a doctor's attention and there isn't one around.

I was done with medicine, but then again where I'm from it's not like we're short on doctors. How far along are you, if you don't mind my asking? (You probably get that a lot.)

Where I'm from we had one and I only had a chance to see him once about the pregnancy before I came through the door to my bedroom and ended up in the lobby here.

I'm seven months, due sometime in January.

I guess it's not that pressing, then? I can look around. If not... maybe if I'm on this side I can take you to my side? Though that would have a few legal ramifications if you were to deliver over there without identification. I'm happy to help in any way I can, in any case.

I'm still nor very sure how the doors work, but anything would be preferable to where I came from or a do-it-yourself birth. I mean, I'm pretty capable most of the time, but that might be a little too taxing.

I keep ending up here by accident. But when I have it figured out we can sort out something. I may not practice anymore but... like Hell am I going to let anyone give birth alone. That's a bit too Middle Ages.

I would appreciate that. I still have nightmares about something that happened before I came here, when one of the people traveling with us got appendicitis.
