Is anyone else getting phone reception at the hotel from their universe of origin? Or any other universe outside the Nexus, actually. As in, when you're here you can receive and make calls to other universes and/or realities? It's important. Like really, REALLY important. I cannot stress enough how important.

That'd be a big zip from me. First thing I tried and nada. I even went through the door to Vegas and I could call there, but calls to my cell back home just gave me dead air.

Not saying much, really. This place seems to be taking a perverse happiness in keeping me cut off from home.

I wanted to see if you could stress further. Apparently you cannot.

That was a disappointingly short experiment.

I'm sure there's a thesaurus in the library if you really need additional adjectives.

Also, what I'm asking about could be important to you, too, so maybe consider being even remotely helpful.

You could also consider asking for my help, directly, rather than wasting my time wondering if my phone works. Alas, we both seem to be our own worst enemy in that regard.

The help I need from you is knowing whether your phone works, Loki. If I was sure there was a problem and you could help in other ways, I would come to you directly.

I was simply making the connection that if you were collecting data for something that is 'really, REALLY important' you would also wish to utilize all tools at your disposal, including the minds of anyone else who may be able to shed light on whatever mystery you wish to solve. Unless, of course, you are arrogant enough to think that is a puzzle you can piece together on your own. In which case, maybe it's not as important as you think.

Yes, we're both not completely self-absorbed and constantly assuming we're being insulted and/or superior to everyone in the universe.

And it's really important that people RESPOND so that I can COLLECT the data. Whether the data points to something important I won't know until I have the data. CRAZY HOW THAT WORKS.

Yeah, I got a couple texts and a voicemail from Mum the other day. I thought it was a legacy from when I had a modified phone previously...but I'm guessing it's a wider phenomenon?

That's what I'm trying to determine. Something similar had happened to me somewhere else, and let's just say the circumstances left something to be desired.

Well, I'd got a new one after the one I had that was adapted, as I wasn't, uh, travelling anymore. Same SIM card, though. And I've not had any calls before though I've been here a while.

Don't be silly. This is the thingy that goes ding when you've been upgraded to new interdimensional roaming. I had to add box universes to the data plan and a few parallel ones that I'd missed in the first gen.

Is that compatible with Vodafone? Because I really don't want to pay over my contract.
